My Top 5 Best Social Media Platforms for Business

Facebook:
With having well over a billion users, Facebook constitutes the largest mixture of demographics of any social platform. It gives an extraordinary medium for your business to connect with prospective customers globally. Now from an advertising perspective, it’s quite easy to manage, and provides the best targeting solutions over all. I use Facebook Ads to match my buyers with around two million prospects who share similar market characteristics. This makes it much easier to know what and how to promote to a given market, and why Facebook is one of the best social media platforms for business.



Twitter:
The value of Twitter resides in its ability for your tweets to go viral. The more people share your tweets and “retweet” your content, the more followers you will attain. Also, the use of #hashtags will help in building momentum for your tweets, so keep an eye on what is trending today and include relevant hashtags. Another effective method is to retweet people who have many followers, this helps to increase the likelihood of them following back.  The viral nature of Twitter is what puts it high in the ranking as one of the top social media platforms to use.

If you are working in a business centric (B2B) field, LinkedIn is the social media platform for you to pay attention to. Being able to Connect with business professionals in any given industry is very easy with LinkedIn.  It allows you to target them by job title, industry, and so forth. LinkedIn seems to prioritize relationship building more than any other social media platform.  When joining LinkedIn, one shouldn't lead with a sales pitch; it's all about building a connection, and LinkedIn Groups are one of the best features for businesses to make those connections.






Instagram:
Next up, Instagram.  It's yet another great way to connect with potential customers.  Considering that Instagram is climbing to the top of the social media platform chain at a fast pace. Instagrams user base is highly active and engaged, it's definitely a place you'll want to spark up a conversation, learn what people like, and fuel your other marketing channels to generate sales. Again, #hashtags can be an effective component to Instagram, and just like Twitter you can really scale your Instagram follower base by posting trending items related to your niche.  The same goes for reposting items from the top Instagramers you follow. 




Youtube:
Of course I couldn't leave out Youtube.  Other than being the world's second largest search engine, YouTube is owned by Big G (Google). So when it comes down to search engine optimization, your videos are quite likely to appear in the search results among top ranked websites, provided you have a good seo optimized title and proper tags. Aside from SEO, Youtube provides traffic and lots of it.  Youtube has hordes of traffic with over 4 billion videos being viewd per day, not to mention commenting and people sharing videos links and or embedding videos in their own sites or blogs.   It gives you the content creator, the power to grow your audience worldwide.  Last but not least, Youtube has a builtin revenue source since it can be connected with Googles Adsense program.  Just having a good Youtube channel alone could be a lucritave venture in and of itself.
